Montana Sunset Bar and Grill

 At the start I have a drawing in charcole, I then corrected it with paint.  They baby proofed the room for me! paint went alot of places besides the canvas!

 Form established, underpainting finished, background layed in.  Finding highlights and value changes .  Some throwing and splattering of paint next.  All the while we visited with people about the painting experience.  A wonderful day!

  work was painted at the CM Russell Quick Finish auction.  2 hours or so,  acrylic on canvas 24"x36"
Was trying to capture the feel of a '50 Merc pulling up to a roadhouse at sunset.  This piece sold at auction.

Montana Elevator #61

 
Finishing touches to the painting at the conclusion of the hour to paint. Piece was pre-framed and when dry I pulled the tape from the frame to make a finished piece. It was a fun and interesting group of artists working this year at the Yellowstone Art Museum.
