Fly High #14

A series developed this week using an asortment of used and second hand store frames. Panel was cut to fit and 17 paintings resulted, all on what dry flys would look like up close flying on a back cast, against the sky. What would that look like? this is the UGLIEST fly I own, nasty thing, but fish love it, or hate it, anyway they bite on it. Acrylic latex on panel, framed out to 13 x 10.

Rusting, Resting

Participated on March 5th in the 43rd annual Yellowstone Art Museum Auction by doing a "Quick draw" painting in one hour, then auctioning it off. Being a teacher in a former life prepared me to work in front of a crowd. Made a light sketch ahead of time, this is about 15 min. into the hour, setting the shadows and background. Miles to go before I sleep. Working in acrylic latex on a nice 24 x 36 gallery edge canvas.
